Ministry: Yemen Ceasefire Welcome
TEHRAN -- A senior Iranian official on Monday welcomed a two-month nationwide truce between the warring sides in Yemen’s seven-year conflict, stressing that the Islamic Republic welcomes any initiative aimed at the complete removal of the cruel siege against the impoverished country and political settlement of the crisis.
“Tehran seeks to make the voice of the Yemeni nation heard across the world through the United Nations and its partners in the region,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told Yemen’s Al-Masirah television.
